Anticipation is mounting as the 13th Annual Louisiana Marathon makes its return to Baton Rouge this weekend, drawing runners from across the globe for a celebration of fitness and Louisiana culture. On Sunday, January 14, at 7 a.m., participants will traverse the heart of Baton Rouge, navigating through downtown, University Lakes, LSU's campus, and historic river town neighborhoods.

Commencing the festivities is The Louisiana Marathon Expo, scheduled for Friday, January 12, and Saturday, January 13, at the Raising Cane’s River Center Ballroom. Here, runners can seamlessly collect their race packets and complete registration. Mike Wattigny, Marketing Director for FRESHJUNKIE Racing, shared his excitement, stating, “We are thrilled to welcome runners from around the country to celebrate Louisiana culture with a healthy serving of running.”

Amidst the marathon weekend, diverse events add to the vibrant atmosphere. On Saturday, January 13, the Louisiana Quarter Marathon and Louisiana Marathon 5K will commence at 8 a.m. at 660 N 4th Street, Baton Rouge. Following this, the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Kids Marathon (1 mile) is set for 10:15 a.m. at the same location.

Adding a touch of whimsy to the event, the Birth Center of Baton Rouge Diaper Dash is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 13, at the Raising Cane’s River Center Ballroom. Yet, the apex of the weekend remains The Louisiana Marathon and Half Marathon on Sunday, January 14, at 7 a.m., starting from 660 N 4th Street, Baton Rouge.

For those seeking an extra challenge, runners participating in races on both days will earn the coveted Deja Vu Award, injecting an additional layer of excitement into this unique celebration of physical prowess and Louisiana's rich cultural tapestry.
