Lafayette is abuzz with anticipation as the 71st Annual MidWinter Fair and ProRodeo returns to the Blackham Coliseum, featuring the renowned Harper and Morgan Rodeo. This spectacular event promises to deliver the full-throttle excitement you've come to expect, showcasing a dynamic lineup of rodeo events and entertainment that will keep you on the edge of your seat.


Running from January 11th to 14th, with evening performances at 7:30 pm and a matinee on the 14th at 2:30 pm, this rodeo is set to captivate audiences with a showcase of traditional and thrilling events. Let's take a sneak peek into what awaits you at this must-see extravaganza.


Bareback Riding:

Witness the raw intensity of bareback riding, where the synchronization between the spurring cowboy and the bucking bronco defines the essence of rodeo tradition. It's the adrenaline-pumping event that started it all.

Barrel Racing:

Breakaway Roping:

Freestyle Bullfighting:

American Freestyle bullfighting, developed in the heart of rodeo, is a 60-second adrenaline rush. Watch as the rodeo clown maneuvers through daring feats, avoiding the bull's fury with skillful dodges, jumps, and the strategic use of a barrel.

Bull Riding:

Prepare for the most thrilling eight seconds in rodeo as cowboys attempt to master the art of riding a bucking bull. The score combines the rider's efforts and the bull's performance, making bull riding a high-stakes and unpredictable spectacle.

Saddle Bronc Riding:

Experience the classic event that originated in the Old West, where cowboys test their mettle against untamed horses. Judges score both the horse's bucking action and the cowboy's control and spurring, creating a captivating display of skill and courage.

Steer Wrestling:

In this historic event, cowboys showcase timing, technique, strength, and horsemanship as they attempt to wrestle a steer to the ground in the quickest time possible.

Team Roping:

Teamwork takes center stage in team roping, where two cowboys work seamlessly to rope a steer. The header initiates the action, and the heeler completes the task by roping the steer's hind legs.

Tie Down Roping:

Watch as mounted cowboys give chase to a sprinting calf, rope it, and skillfully tie three of its legs together in a timed spectacle that requires speed, precision, and teamwork.
